About

We are a multigenerational think tank of powerhouse problem solvers, bright-eyed creatives, and inspired community leaders with a pulse on what's happening in our City.
Our Mission
One Voice, One Community
For many years, the West Baltimore Community had had to manage the impact of division, destruction, and obstruction that the "Highway to Nowhere" created in West Baltimore. RCWBC's mission is to unite the underserved neighborhoods surrounding the U.S. corridor between Martin Luther King Boulevard and the West Baltimore MARC Station so that these neighborhoods can speak in one voice by advocating for systemic change to increase investment in these vulnerable communities.
RCWBC's objective is to also focus its resources on developing programs that increase business ownership, that train residents from the many neighborhoods surrounding the U.S. corridor between Martin Luther King Boulevard and the West Baltimore MARC Station in finances and wealth-building, and that open the generational wealth in alignment with the Justice 40 initiative.
In essence, RCWBC's mission and objective are supported this three-legged stool:
Collective Community Voice | Equitable Transportation | Economic Development
Our Why

We aim to create communities that are livable and vibrant.
Throughout the redevelopment process RCWBC aims to be co-creators of our communities, inclusive decision makers, and drivers of impact. The Highway to Nowhere is just one of many policy decisions that were destructive to our communities. Over the years this had led to disinvestment - both private and public. The public funds now available need to be both steered to support residents of West Baltimore directly and serve the residents of West Baltimore in their impact
Our Community Values
As a coalition, RCWBC has set the following values.
.01
Decision-making power, inclusive, and transparent processes with the City of Baltimore, the State of Maryland, and the Federal Government
.02
Principle of collective responsibility and mutual support through which community members and institutions work together to promote equity, inclusion, and shared well-being.
.03
Intentional exchange and use of information, skills, and lived experience among community members and stakeholders to support informed decision-making and collective action.
.04
Approach to community development that ensures investments, policies, and programs fairly distribute benefits and opportunities, prioritize historically marginalized communities, and promote inclusive, long-term social and economic well-being.
.05
Tangible and intangible traditions, histories, knowledge systems, practices, and expressions of a community that shape identity, strengthen social cohesion, and inform inclusive, place-based community development.
.06
Focusing on implementation and results by turning community priorities into concrete actions and measurable outcomes.
.07
Supporting the well-being, resilience, and full participation of individuals and communities through access to resources, care, and supportive environments.
